Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These terms are a contract between you and Sigvera ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using sigvera.com, its API or its mobile apps (together, the "Service"), you agree to them. If you use the Service for an organization, you confirm you may bind that organization.

2. What the Service does

The Service generates unique, single-use ink codes that you write on a document alongside your signature, stores a photograph or scan of the signed document that you upload, and lets anyone with the code check whether it is genuine and which document it belongs to. Pro subscribers can also request verification certificates and audit trails.

An ink code is evidence that a particular document was registered by a particular account at a particular time. It is not a substitute for any signature, notarization or execution formality that a law or contract requires.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old and provide accurate information.
• You are responsible for your password and for everything done through your account. Tell us at once at support@sigvera.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
• One person, one account. Accounts may not be shared or transferred.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to protect documents you have no right to sign, to impersonate anyone, to upload unlawful content or malware, to probe or overload our systems, or to resell access without our written consent. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

5. Plans, payments and cancellation

• Basic is free and includes a monthly allowance of ink codes. Additional codes can be bought as credits, which do not expire while your account exists and are not refundable.
• Pro is a monthly subscription billed in advance through our payment provider, Stripe. Prices are shown before you buy and include no hidden fees; taxes may be added where the law requires.
• You can cancel Pro at any time from your subscription page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Pro features until then. We do not give refunds for partial periods except where the law requires.
• If a payment fails we will let you know and retry. If it stays unpaid, Pro features are suspended and the account returns to Basic.
• We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. Changes apply from your next billing period.

6. Your content

You own the documents and other content you upload. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, display and transmit that content only as needed to provide the Service to you and to whoever verifies your codes. You confirm you have the rights needed to upload it. We do not use your documents for advertising or to train machine-learning models.

7. Verification

Anyone who has an ink code can verify it. Verification shows whether the code is genuine, when it was generated and used, and limited details of the registered document; it never shows the document image itself or your contact details. We keep a log of verification attempts, including the verifier's network address, to detect abuse and to support you in a dispute.

8. Legal defense features

Certificates, audit trails and other legal defense features are factual records generated from our systems. They are provided to help you and your advisers; they are not legal advice, and we do not guarantee that any court, authority or counterparty will accept them or decide in your favour.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available and secure, but it is provided "as is" and may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control. We may improve or change features over time; if a change materially reduces what you paid for, you may cancel and we will refund the unused part of the period.

10. Ending the agreement

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion permanently removes your ink codes, documents and requests and cancels any subscription; codes that were written on documents can then no longer be verified. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or that has been unpaid for an extended period, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

11. Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties not stated in these terms, and our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. General

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which Sigvera is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. We may update these terms; when we make material changes we will notify you by email or in the Service at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the new terms.
